Driving license is a legal document issued to a qualified citizen and who is an eligible candidate. Driving license is issued by authority of Transport Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Any citizen who is eligible as per department eligibility criteria has wants to drive a two or four wheeler vehicle then citizen need to apply Driving License at authority of transport department of AP.
Government of AP has committed providing of license in a very simple, Moral, Accountable, SMART service to eligible citizens of state and also government is simplified process of applying license. There will be certain written test and driving test under supervision of motor vehicle inspector. Person who passed tests can get driving license and allow to drive vehicles on road for a valid period.
Types of AP Driving License:
If you want enjoy road in sense of driving then you may need to know how many types of driving licenses and categories of license. They are as follows
Learner Driving License (L.L.R)
Permanent Driving License (D.L)
At first time peoples are allowed to apply LLR which is a temporary license, to apply this citizen need to pass test which is computer based aptitude test and some area it is physical test of aptitude, if anybody fails then they can apply again after a week within validity of LLR and it is having six months of validity and within this time period candidate has to apply for permanent driving license and permanent license can be obtaining after one month of learner license.
Eligibility criteria and Category of Driving License: –
Driving license is categorized in different types based on vehicles and persons eligible criteria also categorized. Below mentioned details will show that who and when they are eligible for driving license.

How to apply LLR: –
Applicant who needs to apply LLR can check first eligibility criteria which are maintained by transport department. Application for LLR can apply through online process and process to apply LLR is as follows.
First visit official website of Andhra Pradesh transport department https://aprtacitizen.epragathi.org
On home page you need to click “LICENCE” option in which drop down page option menu will opens then select LLR option.
Now web will redirect to new page there you have select option “DL/ LLR slot availability” and select your related District and test center, service type whether LLR/DL and then select “check availability” option and there after select desired date which will be in green color.
Now enter all details in required field with properly and continue for payment option.
You can pay at RTO office or by Online also, if you are chosen payable at RTO office then take print out of slot booked and if you are chosen online payment then take payment receipt also along with slot booked details.
Now visit center on slot booked date and give test, if you clear test you will obtain LLR if you failed then you need to attend exam apply new one by paying an amount for test.

- School Transfer certificate
- Ration card
- Voter ID
- Aadhar card
Electricity bill/ telephone bill
If any of documents is not available then take affidavit form from judicial magistrate.
Medical to proving that physically fit to use vehicle and form is 1A
Bring recent passport size photographs
If candidate is applying for transport vehicle then applicant has to get original license of light motor vehicle or motor cycle without gear License.
