Gujarat Marriage Certificate Application Registration Check Status Eligibility

Marriage has to be compulsorily registered to prove that they are legally married to someone. In state of Gujarat, marriage can be registered either or under Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or under Special Marriage Act, 1954. In this article we have mention to look at guidelines for obtaining Gujarat at marriage certificate.

Purpose of Marriage Certificate

A marriage certificate is a recognized document that helps in obtaining passport, visas and PAN card. Future, a marriage certificate is required to claim bank deposits and life insurance

Eligibility Criteria

In state of Gujarat to obtain a marriage certificate, following criteria must be fulfilled:

Bride minimum age should be 18 years, and groom minimum age should be at least 21 years.

Both bride and groom must be a citizen of India. In case of marriage with a foreigner, No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required.

Documents Required

Following documents are to be submitted by applicant at time of furnished application form. Documents must be attested by Gazette Officer or by Notary public.

Birth Certificate.

Proof of address like a voter ID card or ration card.

School leaving certificate.

Marriage invitation card.

Two passport size photograph.

Nationality Certificate.

For NRI need to submitted by bride and groom.

Copy of passport.

Address proof.

Employers ID proof.

Residence proof of two NRI witnesses.

Residence proof of two local witnesses.

Memorandum of marriage submitted with 30 days from date of marriage Rs.5/-
Memorandum of marriage submitted after 30 days from date of marriage Rs.15/-
Memorandum of marriage submitted after 3 months from date of marriage Rs.25/-

Procedure for Registration of Marriage certificate

Follow steps specified here:

Step 1: visit official website

Step 2: click on “Online Service” option which is visible of home page

Step 3: select “Online Form” to download marriage registration application form.

Step 4: enter complete details which is given in that page.

Step 5: need to submit dully filled application form to concerned authority of Registration office.

Step 6: get receipt of application from concerned office.

Note: after verification of application marriage certificate will issue within seven working days from date of application.
