NMMS stands National Means – Cum – Merit Scholarship is a centrally Sponsored Scholarship scheme. This scheme was started in May 2008. This scholarship scheme is sponsored by central Government through exam which is conducted by Local Authority. Main objective of this scheme is to give support financially to eligible students. Eligible students should be meritorious and economically weak in society. Every year this scholarship will be in process during month of November and almost 1, 00,000 merit students are utilizing scheme. There will be a quota of scholarship for different states/ U.Ts. Scholarship amount is directly disbursed through State Bank of India directly to students account on quarterly basis. Scholarship is starts from class-VIII to continue their secondary level classes.
NMMS Application Process: –
To apply NMMS scholarship application form applicant should have to reach eligibility criteria. If aspirant is eligible then he/ she can apply through scholarship portal. To apply scholarship follow mentioned steps below.
Candidates have to register first in National scholarship Portal (NSP) as new user with proper details. portal is https://scholarships.gov.in.
Enter all relevant details of Personal, Educational, Bank details and state domicile detailed with carefully.
Now select submit button of application form then you will get Application ID. This Application ID can be uses as login Id on NSP for future references.
Candidates who are applying have to put all documents scanned before applying application while registering in NSP.
candidate who is applying for 9th and 10th classes, candidate have to choose pre – matric scholarship option whereas students who are applying for 11th and 12th standards need to select Post – Matric Scholarship category.
Applicant must be careful while submitting details in application form like application ID, Name, Email Id, Date of Birth and Mobile number.
Now upload all scanned documents and reconfirm details that entered in application form before submitting application form.
Eligibility Criteria for NMMS Scholarship: –
Merit students can have to check eligibility criteria before applying application form. Those who fail to fulfill eligibility application will get rejected. following mentioned are eligibility criteria.
Students who need to apply for NMMS scholarship he / she should be regular of class 9th after clear promotion from class 8th. score of 8th should be 55% of marks or equivalent grade.
Student must be pursuing studies from Government schools/ Local Bodies/ Government Aided Schools.
For continuation of studies in higher secondary school eligible percentage is at least 60% in SSC/ 10th class and has to clear 10th class.
To get scholarship in class 12th student has to clear 11th class with percentage of 55% or equivalent and for students who belong to SC/ ST Category relaxation in percentage is 5%.
Annual income of students parental should be not more Rs.1.5 Lakhs.
Attendance percentage should be 50% for year in aggregate.
Apart from these eligibilities students who are enrolled In KVS, NVS, Sainik Schools and Private Schools are not eligible for NMMS Scholarship.
Application Fee for NMMS: –
Application fee is Rs.100/- per student and affiliation fees Rs.200/- per year institution.
Exam Pattern: –
Exam pattern for NMMS exam is as follows. Exam is conducted by local state / UT governments for their respective students. Test includes a Mental Ability and Scholastic Aptitude whose guidelines are set by NCERT. exam time is about 90 minutes.
Mental Ability test: –
In this test reasoning ability and critical thinking of students through 90 Multiple Choice Questions.
Most of topics of test is from analogy, classification numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures etc.
Scholastic Aptitude Test: –
Scholastic test (SAT) contains 90 No’s of Multiple Choice Questions and topics is covered from science, social, and Mathematics from syllabus of Class 7th and 8th.
Declaration Results of NMMS: –
Once student has appeared selection test then declaration of results list will be as per state and qualification in both MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks and for reserved category there will be relaxation of about 32%.
Applicant should have scored at least 55% marks in final exam of class 8th and relaxation for SC/ST category is 5%.
